Cheryl Daniels

BSc Physio (Wits), PG. Dip (Manips) Uk

Cheryl completed her BSc physiotherapy degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1997. She then went on to complete a post graduate diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2005 which was the clinical component of the Master’s degree through the University of Brighton in the UK.

After graduation in 1997, she left South Africa to work in the UK for a period of eight years.

Her last job as a clinical specialist involved treating a caseload of musculoskeletal patients and teaching and supervision of junior physiotherapists and students from various Universities in the UK.

Upon her return to South Africa in 2006, she worked at a private physiotherapy practice for 13 years where she was involved in the assessment, treatment and prevention of various musculoskeletal injuries including sports injuries.

At the beginning of 2019 she started her own private practice and joined Lindsay McLaren at Sandton Medpark.

Cheryl believes strongly in continuing professional development and attends as many courses she can to keep up to date with evidence based practice and the relevant skills required.

She completed three pilates courses through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in London and is able to integrate the exercises into rehabilitation of her patients.

She has a special interest in the McKenzie technique as a means to classify patients and to enable patients to take a more active role in their continued health. At the end of 2017, she passed the international accreditation exams to become a credentialed McKenzie therapist.

Cheryl is registered in South Africa, the UK and Australia and is also a member of both the South Africa Society of Physiotherapy and the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapy in the UK.

She enjoys the outdoors and believes in keeping fit by doing bootcamp, gym, swimming, pilates and hiking.
